I'm loving this fun little fuzzy sweater with its multicolored stripe pattern and gold accents!
I'm really diggin' statement sweaters lately, and I think this one definitely speaks for itself.
When you have a standout piece that you really want to show off, let it be the star of the show by keeping the rest of your outfit simple. I kept the rest of my outfit pretty low key by pairing my sweater with wide leg trousers and classic navy pumps.
If you are new around these parts or simply do not know me on a personal level, you may not know that back in April my boyfriend (now fiance, more on that later!) purchased our first home.
We had looked at a few different places, and even put an offer in on one but that one just wasn't meant to be.
After finding and viewing this house, we mulled it over for a short while and decided to go for it. We got a great deal, but knew that some things would have to be fixed up.
It didn't seem too labor or time intensive a the time.
Let me remind you that I have always wanted a fixer-upper. I like to think of myself as a Nicole Curtis. Well, that is just not the case. Over 6 months later and we are still trying to make this house a fully-functioning place to call home.
This place was DIRTY. I'm talking smoked-in-the-house, never-cleaned-the-baseboards, never-vacuumed-the-floors, never-cleaned-the-ceiling-fans, carpet-in-the-bedrooms, no-screens-on-windows, stains-on-walls...DIRTY.
We have only been living in the house (mainly our master bedroom) for the past few months. After starting work on the rest of the house while both working full time and him traveling, we decided to focus on the master bed and bath. We wanted to get that done and thought it would be easier to work on the rest of the house when we would actually be there every night. (We had been living in his parents home, which was about 25 minutes away.)
We did indeed get it done and moved a bed, our clothes, and all of our necessities in.
Of course, being the procrastinators that we are, we were not working on the house as much as we should have been.
With all that being said, we are nearing the end & I wanted to share the journey.
See all of the "before" pictures below. (and by before- i mean a couple weeks after closing and after already starting to clean up)
^^don't mind him....just patching some wall holes^^

It's already so different that it is hard for me to look at these pictures.
Hope you stay tuned as I will be sharing progress updates!
